Holidaying for utmost two weeks with fleeting access to the internet had me scrambling for Girl Gone Wild's chart updates the moment i sat before my desktop.
While scrounging for the single's previous positions, it was then a welcome surprise to discover that the 12" EP Picture Disc sat on # 40 of the Spanish Album Charts on week 17/2012. It had also appeared on a niche chart in America (i.e # 38 Pop Songs Chart). These just go to show the potential of the single had it been timely released with the accompanying remixes boosting its saleability... and if it was properly promoted, of course. But these would-have-been's remain as they are: would-have-been's. GGW would never achieve it's full potential unless a miracle occurs while Madonna is on tour and re-ignites interest in the single.
As of the moment, the Queen of Pop is busier in rehearsals than ever as the MDNA Tour draws near. Many fans are still hopeful that the rumour of her performing in this year's Billboard Music Awards comes true. It would provide the much-needed hype for the basically dead GGW and/or the to-be-released TURN UP THE RADIO the moment she decides to perform either of them.
